I have to say it wasn’t half as bad as I thought it was, it was quite interesting really. I think they made a good call by covering his face. I really doubt it would have got aired if they didn’t cover his face. It kind of desensitises you to the fact he was a living human being at one point, if you get what I mean.

It was good, i watched it last time. I saw it up to the point where her removed the forearm muscle and clenched the hand with it - then i noticed Top Gear on the other side

i did a project on skin so when it was removed and the reference of 'the flayed man' was made I instantly recognised it when it was placed on the stand for all to see...
let me find it for you - it was the front cover to my project I did 2yrs ago:

there are several variations of this - the one shown is not the original as I believe it may be a copy/alteration/reference to the one by michaelangelo in the sistine chapel, as well as Leonardo's interesting anatomical drawings and discoveries...

it is thought that the face of the skin is a self-portrait my Michaelangelo.

If you ask me, i'd say it proves that the human body is only a vehicle for our spirit / soul / life force (take your pick).

I wouldn't go as far as saying the human body is perfect because flesh is a design flaw but thats not the point what with needing a constant supply of fuel etc.

I thought the program was refreshingly good, something I only seem to say about The Simpsons, but for the people that found it sickening and repulsive, i don't understand you because we all have what you saw being dissected, its just that its constantly covered with layers of clothes and all that skin...

I think they should show more of this sort of thing to make dissecting corpses less of a taboo (the same applies with sex/porn but thats another matter).

but seriously i enjoyed every minute of it. nothing more sick then carving up a sunday roast. although if they had the faces bobbling about would have been macabre

Nope. There's nothing sick about dissection, pathology or people who find the human body interesting. The fact that the guy enjoys his job so much deserves a high level of respect in itself - not many people can say they love their jobs as much as he does.

To stop getting blood/bits of fat/organs in his hair? Easy to wash off from skin, but you'd have to have a shower after work every day to get rid of your red streaks.

    -edit

As for the selection of the style of hat... he's German. David Hasselhoff is HUGE in Germany.

Pick a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life.

Will be watching tonight with interest, just a shame I've missed the first couple tbh
