A Sudden Decrease in Spam? (Yahoo)

I noted over the last couple of week that I where I would get about 10 to 20 emails a week, that went straight into spam. With subjects I could not even repeat on this forum.

Now I am getting about 1 spam email a week, AliExpress likes to send them out a bit too much.

I'm wondering if, since the whole Yahoo hacking thing come out, they have cleaned up their act?
This brings me to think, they are filtering my emails before I even see them, probably based on a rude word list. If so should I be given more control over what is spam and is not.

Last week, someone who I gave my email too and emailed me for the first time to ask about a Zippo lighter they had and had put in the subject header "Need help dating a Zippo"
I never got this email until they asked me if I got the email IRL, I had no idea. They resent it to my Gmail account, which came through fine. All I can think of is Yahoo picked up on the word 'dating'

So before I reach for the tin foil hat, anyone else with a Yahoo email account seen a decrease in spam emails?

Yes, like you the regular nonsense over the last several months has dwindled to a trickle here, when I first noticed the decrease, I assumed the bot meisters were busy over the holiday period but it's not picked up again since.

Re: A Sudden Decrease in Spam? (Yahoo)

In my case I haven't had a deluge of spam on Yahoo for a pretty long time now. The lowest is about 2-3 or less per week, recently one particular company I've not signed up to their mailing list is sending me about 5-6 a week, but at the worse, I was getting 20+ per week so this is pretty much nothing. In terms of body part enlargement or activity enhancement, I do not even recall I got those sorts (I used to, but it's been so long). Then again, I hardly check my spam mail box anyway as I don't normally get false positives in my Yahoo due to what I use it for.
