How long does it takes to get out of this moderation phase?

All my comments are going in moderation and I am really concerned about it. How long does it take to get out of this phase?

How long? It varies, but usually not long at all.

The thing is, the moderation 'phase' is something that doesn't affect the majority of joiners at all. It also does catch a LOT of spammers, and some other undesirables, which is why we do it.

Sadly, we also get some 'false positives', when it catches people it isn't aimed at. Like you.

But your question is hard to answer because it all depends WHY you ended up moderated. The process is automatic, and then either authorising posts requires requires moderator intervention, or removing it altogether requires an admin. So the first issue is when an admin happens to be around. I've caught false positives within a minute or two, but others might take some hours.

Secondly, it also depends on why an application was moderated, and possibly on the content of posts. Sometimes, a false positive is obviously false, but others are not so clear-cut.

But beyond that, it's very hard to explain what's going on without risking giving away what's happening to precisely those it's aimed at keeping out, which makes it all the more likely they'll find a way round it, and THAT would be to the distinct detriment of our members.

All I will say is that we're sorry for the inconvenience caused, usually briefly, to those unintentionally affected, but once cleared, that's it over with. And the upside is a serious reduction in spammer activity and other unwanteds, to everyone's benefit.

I can't see any reason why that should be - l haven't noticed any of your posts being held in the mod queue - perhaps some of your earlier posts weren't released?

However, I will keep a look out for any anomalies!

Could have been an initially high rate of posting (the account is only 3 days old) so a lot of early posts went into moderation before they were spotted. All seems to be OK now.
