By all means trump to the press, the media and so on.. but not to a mammoth gathering of teenage kids and young adults who are learning to be better citizens

In the end sadly it seems if there is enough social media hype for anything and anybody nowadays people are quite happy to not care about truth or facts,and lose all rational thought. It becomes an us versus you crapfest.
We live in a post truth world and the internet is at the forefront of it.
But if it's on The Internet it must be true...
The real problem is the lack of critical thought, both my the posters, but more importantly, the reader. It's become a mob fest where he(she) who posts the most gets heard and so it becomes a vicious spiral. Anti-social media is just becoming one big propaganda machine.
Of course, some would say that that is a good thing, power to the people, a free and open platform and the right to free expression, but as always, the responsibilities that go with those rights get overlooked (and who 'granted' that right to free expression?)

Hm, to me all the 'serving' stuff is highly political as in turn kids into tomorrows cannon fodder, but then I immediately associate any type of 'patriotism' with nationalism and want nothing to do with either.
Scouting in the US is not scouting in the UK. I was a Scout in the UK. They would not have allowed me to be a Scout in the US. The politics is disgusting.
What aspect of it, do they try to indoctrinate you with anti-liberal propaganda, like being anti-gun or something? Do scouts in the UK get to carry guns?

Arguably we live in a "pre-truth" world... considering how little we know about anything, and the degree that we still go to ignore objective reality.
If Wisdom is the coordination of "knowledge and experience" and its deliberate use to improve well being then how come "Ignorance is bliss"
'post-truth' refers to the idea that with so much information flying round, so much more than at any other point in history, it becomes very difficult to sift what is and isn't true, especially given we're at no point in our education armed with real tools with which to do so.
we are in a pre-truth world in the sense that there's a lot we have yet to learn, but that will literally forever be the case, so in that sense, it's meaningless.
