Meh, unicorn vomit.
The only RGB I own that I actually use are the LED strips taped to the back of my monitor for use as an ambi-light, and it's set to a single constant colour. I really don't give a damn one way or another about RGB, but I am against the current trend of integrating it into everything and anything.
I'm also against PCs on desktops - the only time it should on the desk is when you're fixing/tinkering/upgrading it.
I don't like the whole style over substance shtick.

Just play polybius https://store.playstation.com/en-gb/...AMASOFTPRD0001 on ps4VR if you want RGB,
and yes I agree this sort of stuff [RGB] hinders PC gaming
and the RAM prices Oo I recently had to do a NUC build - 32GB RAM needed [sigh] though I do know that machine will be running for several years at least
[deleted a ramble about video modes 4k etc ...]

Its was an aluminium mini-ITX box,so I kept nearly knocking it over when it was on the floor since I am clumsy, and it has a bottom mounted intake, and it kept sinking into the carpet blocking the intake. Ideally, yes it should be on the floor,as its easier to hear any transmitted sound on the desk.

Just because RGB can do 16 billion colours, doesn't mean you have to show them all off by leaving it in Demo mode.
Rainbow PC is just the mark of a clueless amateur who leaves things on default settings... and probably hasn't installed any apps on their smartphone, or adjusted the height of their swivel chair.
Oh.... You offering to replace the £1,100 worth of Wedding Present office furniture that my PC sits atop, then?
What about my knackered spine from having to twist and bend down every time I need to access the tower?
I don't get it.
I don't get the point of RGB lighting outside of those 20 seconds of admiring your hard work, having put it all together and taking the obligatory battle station and inside the case pics.
I leave my machine on 24/7 to fold and those lights, pretty as they are, would drive me mad.
When I'm actually using the computer, a lit keyboard, mouse, case - what ever, will drive me mad.
I know this because 14 years ago, I did this;
I was proud of it. I took a photo and uploaded it for the world to see.
Moments later, I disconnected it.
What a stupid thing to spend money on, I reflected.
I could have bought more RAM, I could have bought a new game, I could have done so much more with that money than light my case up for 20 seconds.
Nowadays, I don't even have the choice. Whether I like it or not, I'm forced to repeat history and buy those stupid blue CCFLs - or rather 16 billion colour RGB LEDs, if I want any component with a sniff of performance.
I don't get it.

If you're against my PC sat on my desktop, you can buy me furniture that gives me somewhere else to put it. Since what I have was a wedding prersent and only allows space for a desktop placement, I go with that.
Ah, so what works for one must be fine for everyone else?
Great - Shut up and enjoy the RGB, then!!
Same as any styling on any thing, really. The beading and mouldings on your wooden furniture, the coving, dado and skirting on your walls, the frames around your pictures, the trim on your car, the pattern on your mousemat... same same.
Besides I get those 20 seconds of pesonal admiration several times a day, every day, particularly since I did a lot of the work my own self anyway.
I don't even notice it when I'm using the PC, unless I look over to check those I've specifically set up to provide information during usage.
Roll on RGBW - when it becomes more mainstream, maybe ill bite
Ah, no, y'see this thing 'ere is a public forum where people air their opinions. Now, sometimes everything goes swimmingly and sometimes people disagree. However, fortunately, there is no obligation for me to cough up the readies just because you do something I disagree with.
You are a creature of free will, and you are entitled to your opinion. It is your right to be wrong.
But ye also must express it as an opinion, rather than an order, else ye opens yersel' up fer all manner of liabilities and things.
Oh, I dunno... I'm sure there's a lawyer who'd prove otherwise, if I could afford the retainer fee...
Last time I tried to be wrong about something, I was nearly banhammered for obscene and lewd conduct.
