Oh the pain, and messing with eyeballs is just wrong.

Ok just got fitted for contacts, I need them as I am so lazy I never wear my glasses when I should, so I decided to get contacts, omg they are painful, not only that but because I chose bi-weekly disposables they are H00ge, like miles bigger than the gas permeable ones, has anyone else had to go through the pain of first wearing them? Its like omg I want to rub my eyes so bad.

Then theres the fact I actually have to start paying for this pain, Im not sure I wanna.....not just for the sake of seeing the extra 100yds beyond what I can anyway....

Used to wear them, but i decided one morning after poking myself in the eye 6 times (thats 3 in each eye) that it wasn't worth the hassle. I look sexier with glasses anyway

If you're having that much trouble with them, go see your optician, the chances are they're the wrong shape. Also, I'm not really sure 2 weekly ones are best, you have to be very very careful about cleaning and storing them.

Too lazy to wear glasses??? the hastle of looking after contact lenses is far worse.

I use the 1 day ones, they are smaller too.

A tip for you when you are about to put them in, put a drop of the liquid in it then
stick it in. That way it will jump on easier and feel less irritating.

if you cant be bothered with your glasses, then contacts arent the answer.

Go for laser eye surgery - i had it last february, cost me £850 for both eyes - was fine after a day, and have never looked back (not literally, my eyesight is perfect).

I also had laser surgery, with excellent results. There are some horror stories out there. My advice would be, don't go for one of the cheaper ones. All laser machines are not equal!

i think it's more about the operators.
i wore contacts for years - and they were great in summer for waterskiing and mountainbiking, ditto in winter for skiing - but a bit of a nightmare with astigmatism. recently tried them again, but it's now impossible for me to wear them. as soon as I can come up with the cash (and figure out a tax writeoff) then will be going to see the top guy in the UK (well, he's irish) a friend of mine just went through him - sorted her astigmastism right out, and she's had perfect vision for over a year with no signs of any problems. i think it's worth it - and contacts just cause most of us too much pain!

mine were WEIRD when I first got em - but I actually prefer the bigguns now.. got quite thick eyelids and pop the standard 13.8mm ones out realy easily. no trouble at all now - been wearing mine 12+ hours a day for 6 years now.. no problem you DO get used to it, but it takes about a month until you don't notice em... and to blink right
