    Question Is this a piss take 79 domain names for $5,000,000.00

    ebay never stops astounding me with some of the sxxt that peeps put up for auction

    Who the hell does this guy think he's kidding and is he really serious about his starting bid of £3,091,572.31 or US $5,000,000.00 for 79 crappy domain names which on looking at are or could be infringement of copyright if any dufus actually bought them and tried to use them.

    Now tell me the truth am I half right or am I looking at this with my special Stella vision goggles on?

    IMHO, he's after free advertising. Look at the bottom .....
    IF YOU HAVE AN INTEREST IN BUYING INDIVIDUAL DOMAINS OR ANY OTHER QUESTIONS EMAIL: .......
    I think there is naff-all chance of ANYONE buying that lot at $5 million, BUT, there might well be people interested in one domain .... and he not only has EBay advertising the domains for him, but probably threads like this, with links, on BBS's all over the planet.

    So someone running, for instance, an online sock-selling operation might well think, hey, socks247.com, thats a good name for me, and email him with an offer.

    If so, domain sold, result, and no EBay fees to pay. The ludicrous minimum bid pretty much guarantees not selling any of them via Ebay.

    Maybe, just maybe, something that appears to be totally daft has actually been thought out well???

    Bollox.
    Hes trying to take advantage of people with no imagination to think of there own domains.
    Think of how many 100's of other suffixes are around that you could use to get an accurate or memorable name with?

    Typical yank fool methinks!

    sell them off individually (many are worth 7 figures!)
    lol, I doubt even in old Italian Lire is that true. Still IF this is some cleverly thought out advertising scheme then well done that person.

    Geez it is, we could all be Turkish billionaires* with just £450, woo. I dunno, 45 pence still seems a but pricey to me.

    * a US billion
