I would have preferred it if Newegg had opened a U.K. arm. That would have been a better solution to the problem. Anyway, I clicked the ad even though I have no idea what visual studio does.

we both know that's a lie. even microsoft do. text-mode installer with the wonderful f6-to-load-sata-drivers-from-floppy, for the first section of install. the installer is one of the main things to be overhauled for longhorn, the plan being that it ACTUALLY just goes in, installs, finishes, within 3 or 4 clicks.

Without Microsoft we would not be where we are now.

microsoft can be credited with actual achievement towards their fluffy mission statement of "a computer on every desktop". no other company can take credit for helping to push the commodity consumer PC as microsoft. quite a step up from writing BASIC interpreters for spectrum-era kit!

Seriously, I know it might sound like I was whining but I don't honestly see why people are annoyed with adverts that keep the site running
If there was a huge popup or flash file thing that appeared slap bang in the middle of the page with only a little "Close X" in the corner, that might get annoying however

Well I'm a very happy bunny now, previously to open Hexus forums at work I would have to wait on average 4 minutes, the ads messed it up I'm not sure if it's Websense that diodn't like it or just our naff deployment of NT4.

Opens instantly now no fuss!!

I am not even going to applogise. We operate as a commericlal organsiation and we have bills to pay - running just the forums is costs which you would not even like to dream about.

We took feedback about the Newegg situation, and are trying out some new people.
