hmmm
Does the primary written language use the latin alphabet?
So northern hemisphere, non-latin alphabet, non-ex-soviet, non-east-asian. What does that leave? Greece and middle east I guess. Not a question, just thinking "out loud"
Arabic?
Saudi Arabia?
Damn, I was hoping that would be a "no" as I think it would help more by eliminating than by narrowing down.
Now I need to think hard about where Arabic is spoken, and how best to narrow it, and I'm not at home to be able to easily do it.
So, thinking out loud and NOT questions ... country with a border on Med, or part of UAE, or country beginning with I (like Iraq, or Iran, though that's more Farsi than Arabic, IIRC).
Also, still thinking out loud and not a question, or a yes/no one, why would you be wherever you are, and would that help narrow it down.

Oh, it did eliminate some, for sure, but left more than a few in, too, including most of the middle east, at least some of North Africa and I'm furiously trying to think of elsewhere that might be rather more .... elliptical .... but still speak's Arabic. A bit like some far-flung ex-colony of a European power might speak Englush, French, Span7sh, Portuguese, Dutch, etc.
13 should be enough, but not if it's somewhere like that, and we blow through the 13 carelessly. Again, not a question, just thinking out loud.
