not attack as such.. just some piece of awesome software varying the IP address constantly and using thousands of different email addreses to try to sign up
I've turned off sign up entirely but ... being software it hasn't sussed it.

The spam lists we use are strong so 99% of them were rejected anyway but it's still... a good few thousand at once.

It's not a DoS style.. it's just stupid people trying to spam the forum with adverts and fake posts about brides from varying continent, things stop your ears ringing, bank loans of amazingness... the list is endless
