Could you draw the Union Jack?

(Before looking at the clip, of course. They got an outline to colour in, lucky them, which I didn't realise before I started my freehand abstract expressionist effort.)

May or may not be simplicity itself to some/all of you lot, but I have to say I *may* have failed to achieve a perfect-or-nearest-offer representation.

Have a go and if you wish to embarrass yourself by posting your result I don't think it's treason (is it?)

Btw this is not a ploy to see who gets it 100% because they have Union Jack wallpaper in front of them, in order to draw out those who are on the brexity side of Hexus (Hexiters?)

They mean, of course, the Union Flag.

Traditionally it is only the Union Jack when it is worn on the jackstaff of a ship, although the terms tend to be used synonymously on recent times.

Re: Could you draw the Union Jack?

    I have Union Flag:
    Socks
    Bow ties
    Pants
    Tie
    Mugs
    Cushion
    Cocktail umbrellas
    Flags

The Union Jack / Flag thing is traditional but some change was made in Royal Navy nomenclature a while back which saved me kicking a lot of people in the crotch and just barely forgiving them instead.

I would have a Union Flag on my motorbike but frankly these days I'd probably get run off the road. I was very disappointed that when I went to a black tie charity do wearing my usual Union Flag bow tie that I was referred to the "Brexit Party Boy". Never mind that this has been my get up for the past 15+ years, no. It's now political.

hijacked, one might say. I get the annoyance (of circumstances slewing a thing that pre-dates them), hence the tongue-in-cheek ref in the OP, because I did precisely mean, this is a post with no political object any more than if I'd ask if you could draw a bicycle.

Thank you Peter for flagging up my misnomer.

Good question. I know I wouldn't get the ratios exact in terms of the width of the bars, but getting the colours all correct.... I think I might have a go at that later on!

Takes me back to my old Cub Scout days. Used to love raising and lower and folding the flag.

I'm doubtful that anyone could get the offset on the northern ireland bit right without a reference

Yeah, the St Patrick's diagonals threw me off, I couldn't remember which were on top and which on bottom

Re: Could you draw the Union Jack?

Nope, but then I am not remotely patriotic and couldn't care less about which country has which flag.

I could of course recognise it and could have a good go, but getting it spot on? Very unlikely.
