    No Words...

    Initial reaction?

    Society sucks.

Is it even possible to stop this?

If ever something needed money throwing at it, this might be a prime candidate. Career choice? Ending this stuff. Challenges aside, there's apparently a ton of turn over with those fighting this because of how traumatic it is.

How do they do psychological screening for this kind of thing. You're gonna be pretty messed up after seeing even a small amount of content. Humanity deserves no place on this planet.

    Re: No Words...

Given that the same technolgy people rely upon to protect their privacy and information from hackers data miners and unscrupulous corporations, is the same technology that keeps these [heavily censored] equally anonymous, I would say it's certainly a challenge to stop this. Would you give up your privacy if it meant crimes like this could be stopped?

Of course, we have the GDPR now, meaning companies cannot hold data on you without reasonable cause, so if you appear to have done nothing wrong you're protected...

I wonder if all those companies wanting to avoid taxation would consider instead just sending a butt-load of tax-deductable cash toward causes like this?
Like they say, obviously certain tech companies would face problems with conflicts of interest, but places like Amazon, Fujitsu, Ikea, McDonalds, Mondelez, Netflix, Starbucks, Unilever, Walmart... all the big places with no vested interest in internet security, but massive profits and high tax avoidance - They'd do themselves a massive favour and be able to collectively throw billions at this problem.

    Re: No Words...

This will probably be considered by some to be a little extreme but if i ruled the world I'd castrate anyone convicted of kiddy fiddeling, i know there's sometime miscarriages of justice so it's always possible someone would lose their family jewels only later to be found innocent but if we take a sample and freeze it they can still have kids and they could be put on drugs to replace the lost testosterone, if these people can't control their 'urges' then IMO we should control it for them like we do with dogs.

    Re: No Words...

the deepest depth of horror is the money made from it.

I am sad to say that internal family abuse has exsisted since humans existed. In recent history there will be millions of cases. Everyone heart breaking and sick.

But the internet expands the profitable sale of it...and there lies the sickest part - those big companies allowing it to flow through their servers.

Don't tell me it's not something that systems capable of deep fake cant spot. Utter crap.. of course it can. Etherium mining can support the block chain processing needed.

They just don't wanna spend the billions on sorting it.

    Re: No Words...

“We go home and think, ‘Good grief, the fact that we have to prioritize by age is just really disturbing,’” said Detective Paula Meares, who has investigated child sex crimes for more than 10 years at the Los Angeles Police Department.
imagine that?... massive excel spread sheet of abused kids.. filtered by age for priority of time spent on the work load.
    that's horrific on every level
