we've got a great variety of imbibers here

So...those of you who do a fair bit...anyone gonna knock it on the head? Totally?

And does anybody wish they could drink MORE, cos they like the flavours of all the wines/beers of theworld, but get too drunk too quickly?

Anybody get embarressed about the amount their friends drink? while out n about

I'm not an "often" drinker. But when i'm home we ike to have a bottle with dinner between 3 and occasionally more on a sunday afty...

when out: The last time i went out i drank a fair bit (for me)

I think I had... 3x Orange reefs, 2x double vodka, blackcurrant and lemonade and 4x baileys on the rocks... that sorta finished me off...

I like a drink, but i don't like the feeling of being out of control... a good '97 bordeaux (94 better, but i've run out) with my dinner is my kinda drink.

It all depends, I go out about 8 times a month.....say twice a week

If its just down the pub I normally only put away 4 or 5 pints, have a good time....a laugh, get merry and leave it there, dont get silly and fall over.

The occasional night out in brum (Which would be to a club, once or twice a month) I normally get slaughtered....as its only a once or twice a month thing after winding down from a lot of uni work and a lot of work work.....I normally get myself in 5/6 cans of beer so Im pretty gone before I get to the club, to save me money then limit my drinking, have a couple of vodka and red bulls to keep me awake and then probably a couple more pints with mates. Sometimes if Im drinking with a big group of friends instead of 5/6 cans.....its sharing a bottle of vodka with someone else....so half a bottle before I go the club, either way I get quite drunk now'n and again

I dunno if what I do is a fair bit, wokring it out makes me think it probably is. But no, I wont stop drinking, I like drinking, I've no doubt that with the right group of friends it makes a good night a great night. I rarely over do it and when I do, its obviously my own fault

Im pretty content with how I take my alcohol, if I really wanna get drunk I can, but I can enjoy a few without telling everyone I love them 6 or 7 times.

I never really care how much everyone else drinks, I have however been embarrassed a couple of times by stupidly drunk mates. On one occasion I introduced a good friend to a group of friends and one of the group was stupidly rude to her, it wasnt good. On another occasion a mate I had a deep and meaningful with pretty much told everyone what I had told him a while back. Not really embarrassment but it hurt all the same.

2 pints a week at most, usually working on graphics and alcohol and mouse movements of that nature are not easy when you have had a few, you just get pissed off with yourself lol

Social drinker myself, unless i've had a bad day, which doesn't happen much at the moment. I've gone past drinking pints and pints of beer tho, and prefer to drink a nice bottle of red wine.

Not a drop here. Although I'm still a teenager, I have no intention of starting.

I never drink in the house, as my Dad taught me that people who drink in the house, alone, are pretty much rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishrubbish. No offense of course, and girls drinking wine, watching a film, crying, eating a giant Toblerone are given a free pardon.

As for general drinking, I had 5 or 6 bottles of Bud over Christmas, and haven't had much since then. Drink a few Vodka and Red Bulls (98th time that's been mentioned in this thread...) every now and again.

Overall I'd say I drink very, very little.

My weekly shop always consists of 2 cases of whatever beers are on offer.

Does it bother me? Nope. I can happily go out, NOT drink and stil have a riot. But if I'm going out to drink, well, if a jobs worth doing its worth doing right!

i dont drink at home cos i dont get any enjoyment out of it and also no one else in my family (besides my uncles) drink.

However, on a tuesday night i occasionally go out to "revolution" at the union and drink a few (as many as i can afford) £1.25 vodka mixes. Wednesdays used to be the big pub quiz, but it's stopped now, but i would do the same as a tuesday. fridays its pub day when the whole chem3 class goes to the union bar and just slob there from about 12pm - 1am so i drink whatever i'm given. If i'm in leeds on a friday (once or twice a month) we go out to le rawk pub and drink many units there (double voddy mix). Saturdays are reasonably quite, although in the summer if i'm in leeds we tend to end up in a cocktail bar

Now bear in mind, i dont do ALL of that EVERY week, just 1 or 2 days there with only a friday drinking sesh being a regular thing

    none taken

I was once on a Sales Training Course for 3 days..it was more a psychology course really, all relevent to getting peoples money from their wallets of course. We stayed in a nice hotel for 3 days and 3 nights.

On the first evening, after classes where I had successfully wound up everyone within and inch of hanging me from a lamp fitting, I had a nice relaxing bath, got ready for dinner, mossied on down to the bar and waited for the lot of them to turn up. One of the instructors showed up first and proceeded to tell me that only alcoholics drank on there own.

I spent the next two days working on him, pushing him, forcing his comfort zone (note: dont try to physche out Zakky....he loves it too much) until I discovered that he'd lost everything to drink and was now a reformed ex-alcy. He then cried in front of everyone on the course, and had to retire from the job the month after (my boss was told on a seminar the next month)

Anyway..I'm still happy to drink on my own, even now. But I do think of him sometimes...poor sod

I don't make the rules Zak, I just follow them blindly.

The geezer was right though Zak, only dirty alcho types drink regulary alone. I mean, if you haven't got your mates around, go out for a laugh, then have a curry and a racially motivated fight afterwards, what's the point?

Unless its Christmas of course, special rules for Christmas, just as the baby Jesus would have wanted. And those rules are:

Thou shalt drink loads of lager and eat loads of those small sausages whilst watching the Christmas special of Only Fools and Horses.

I can't help reading Vaul's post and querying whether taught was used implicitly or "Son don't drink in the house". Damn why isn't it an arguement thread, pretty sure i could have used that

most of the time I drink fairly responsibly - I try not to keep too much in the house ( in the terms of cold lager or wine ) because I know It'll get drunk far faster than it should be

when I'm out , it depends on how long I'm out for as I dont drink too fast (unless its strawpedos - just ask some of the hexus party attendee's ) but I do drink at a pretty contstant rate for the entire session
