    Bouycott UK

The list is endless, but the final straw was Bojo, breaking the terms he agreed to on the withdrawal agreement. So (in theroy) brits in the EU could get kicked out in jAN 2021., but I doubt EU counties would be that petty.

If it were Iran or N.Korea, economic sanctions would be a given.

The UK is an embarresment now, i'm ashamed of the country I was born in, so I am actively boycotting UK goods and services where possible.

Some people will say he playing a hard ball with Junker, but really he's throwing his toys out the pram. He's not a PM he's not even a man, he's a spoilt little kid. Cummings must have some dirt on him to still be there pulling the strings.

The photo is 100% conclusive proof of noncivity.

    Re: Bouycott UK

I don't think the boycott of British goods will really help anything.

Cui bono? The pound tanks and his chums profit or the EU capitulates to his petulance and he is the Messiah of chancers. Win win.

But what do you expect? Vote clown get circus.

Yup. A principle that was worked perfectly for decades so I'm not sure why you'd consider anything else likely.

The single biggest weakness with any democracy, certainly any modern one .... all we ever manage to elect is more bleeping politicians.

    Re: Bouycott UK

Not sure what the point of boycotting UK goods would be, especially in regards to Boris and some of his political allies. It won't affect him. It might affect those businesses attempting to succeed.

The only option is to get involved in politics at a local level. If you're a Conservative voter generally then you could become a member and work for change. That might seem futile to some, and maybe it is, but it's not more futile than boycotting UK goods...

Like yourself, im an expat for the last 5 years or so. UK citizens are judged in the EU, just as the UK unfairly judges EU citizens, Im tired of that and bouycotting the UK goods and services is simply making a stand, It's a matter of principle.

Bojo is going to be breaking the law, buying UK goods or services under this example is the international equivilant of buying a stolen car radio. Come to think of it I can't think of a single product or service I use anyway. Uk is maily just tourism (dead, may be revived) and finacial services (about to die).

Do you also boycott anything made using parts from China for similar reasons?

Just to clarify, do you mean 'good quality but cheap' goods, or 'goods of a cheap quality'?

I would argue that China produces some of both. Personally, I'm happy to buy high quality goods, and if they're cheap because they're made where unit labour costs are lower, then up to a point, that's fine.

But there's also a lot of low quality, cheap tat comes out of China and that, I avoid wherever I see it.

The "up to a point" bit involves whether various standards, including both employee protections and product and safety standards, are compromised, and sadly, all to often, one or both are exactly what "cheap tat" involves. For example, power supplies and chargers that appear, superficially, to be okay, but in reality, lack protections that can result in electrocution, or fires from overheating. Or dangerous children's toys.

And then, of course, there's the whole IP rights abuse thing.

I think it's clear his objective is to state a desire to punish the British people for voting for their interests rather than his.

From the thread theme, probably so, and I'm not interested in discussing that. It's his right to buy where he wants. And, it's not like some of us aren't likely to do exactly the same in reverse.

But I wasn't asking about whether he's boycotting China, but about "cheap quality".

In their intrests is your narrow point of view, most sane people agree what the UK govenment is far from in the countries best interests. The PM is saying it's okay to break the law. Great example to set isn't it.

im sure you would have no problem walking around wearing Hugo Boss while nibbling on nestle, heck you probaly pre-paid your own funeral with Topf and Sons.

inexpensive and quality. i missed a coma.

The may well have been cheap and nasty a few years ago, but chinese products have come a long way. Just like Japanese cars and tech did in the 1980's.
