No forum thread for news stories?

Link is still given in the quicklinks (RH side of forum), but there's no actual thread to link too - is this a scripting error or something else?

Yeah I just noticed this as well, I tend to hit the forums, and then link back out to the homepage for the articles I'm interested in.

Also noticed this, and on UK 5G story missing comments and forum post too:
    https://hexus.net/tech/news/network/...k-install-ban/
Thread for forum shows 0 (moving mouse over it shows it leads to THREAD NONE). I guess they're just done with comments on some topics? Can't fix a script?

It would be a daft business decision to remove the comments. There has been some good research showing people pay more attention to comments than the article. So if that's 2/3rds of people who are more interested in the discussion of the issues, that's a lot less traffic. Plus it's reduced screen time spent on your site as people engage and therefore less ad revenue potential. If there are issues with the cost of moderation I would hope they'll do a screen time / ad exposure analysis between with and without comments.

on sensible sites the discussion can be useful. On trash sites the discussion rarely is. I wouldn't put Hexus in that category though. This new server move has really messed with things up on here.

Nothing to do with us removing them. It's purely due to the server move having unintended issues. Tends to happen when you move 10+ year old software

    That's a relief.

Here's hoping the new software properly supports IE11 now
