Trustworthiness only matters when there's an opposition. The Tories don't have one right now. Hopefully they will soon.

I honestly don't. All my life I can remember sleeze, corruption, back handers and dodgy dealings by MPs of all colours. It's incredibly rare they lost their seat as a result.

This is true too. The advantage the Tories have is that since Nigel stepped down from his latest vehicle there is no other credible right wing party.

If you're anywhere in the centre or right wing then depending on where you live you have the choice of Labour, Lib Dem, Green & possibly one of SNP/Plaid. If one of them annoys you, you can switch to a party broadly in line with your views.

On the right you've got the tattered remains of UKIP and whatever the Brexit Company is called this week. Both have served their purpose and have no real presence. If you're a right wing voter and the tories annoy you you'll probably still hold your nose and vote for them anyway as there are no other options close to your viewpoint.
