    Micro$hafts big idea

so i guess they'll be shutting down their chat services... which will force all the other big names to do the same.

Then the new version of messenger will come out.

WITH A NICE HEFTY SUBSCRIPTION CHARGE.

Micro$haft make lots and lots of money, but its ok, because now your dumb childeren are safe.............

I always thought that it was commen sence as a kid never to meet some one off the net. I have done recently but I think Im big enuff to handel my self and smart enuff to web cam chat with her before we met.

Microshaft better not charge. If they do I think I will just make my self a thing like it for all my contacts.

If Microsoft charge for MSN I'd find a way of getting round it and damn well publicly announce it!!

Mind you it is a superb service, it might be worth a small charge..

to be fair, im suprised they havent done it already, there wasa load of tak of a monthly charge, like a year ago, but nothing ever came of it.

This way the get millions of parents choosing their internet service, microsoft get a good rep with parents.

then tha mohoney comes rollin in

If Microsoft charge for their service, everyone will just go and use a free one instead!

As for the chatrooms, not fussed myself, never used them anyway.

they say kids are getting smarter, but when i was that age i steered well clear of chatrooms. People should have to gain licenses to use computers. Pass some sort of test.

Everyone would go to another free IM like yahoo or ICQ. Only problem is I've got all my mates from school on MSN and we've set up an MSN community site to keep in touch, it'd be difficult to co-ordinate everyone moving over. I don't see why they have to charge anyway, they have banners on the service, which they don't on other IM programs!

I read elsewhere that the reason for killing off all the older and third party clients was something to do with the impending release of Office 2004. Whereby COLLABORATION between other MSN users would be a new key feature.

Still, I wouldn't pay for MSN.
