    Web Space?

A colleague wants to knock up a really simple webpage, yes, page, not site!

But, she wants it nice and clean with no adverts/junk etc.

Are there any free (or v cheap) web hosts that would suffice?

She's a publisher so has access to dreamweaver to create the actual content - its just finding somewhere to put it! - Kind of how you used to eons ago when ISPs gave out 50mb of webspace etc.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

Ahh, I saw that and thought that looked wrong too! - I was expecting it to be like a hot uk deals but for web hosting lol, not just one host, I'll give that a look.

    Re: Web Space?

I signed up to www.000webhost.com recently, they seem OK as a free host. No adverts or popups on your site as far as I can see...

Just using it for testing purposes myself, but the cPanel is pretty good.

One.com do .com domains plus a years hosting for just under a tenner. Sign up through Quidco and you'll get a tenner back. I've used them for a couple of sites (simple) and can't fault them. Seems reasonable...

I was going to say http://www.one.com as well, as a friend recommended them to me also.

    Re: Web Space?

You can nearly always pick up a cheap hosting package from a US Ebay reseller for under a tenner. Great for single pages and low usage stuff, not good if you are a upwards of a thousand page hits a day.
Also, look out for qiq.co.uk deal - they come up regularly and are a really decent service.

hehe its not too difficult once you have some content and get spidered and therefore into the search engines rankings. I am still trying like mad with daily updates to get more hits in but it does come.
