Wiggle / Chain Reaction Cycles effectively gone

Now last I heard any news about them they were merging (I don't exactly keep up with these things). Think I've bought a few bits after that but when I logged in today I thought the site looked a bit odd and wondered why the filter on inner tubes included gender (and why they only had one brand).

Turns out they are now under Mike Ashley's Frasers Group A quick read and it doesn't look pretty. Yes financial troubles at the end of the last year but they have literally just bought the name, pretty much everyone fired before our after the purchase. Sad times, will be looking elsewhere for inner tubes (another ruddy flat tyre today!)

Mike Ashley has been busy buying a lot in the last 6 years. That includes Evans Cycles.
He's also been buying hefty stakes in ASOS, Currys AO and boohoo...

You can tell the high st is dying as they're now so desperate to fill empty spaces, they're turning huge chunks of it into housing. The House of Fraser in Reading closed within the last year and they're turning that section of the shopping centre into apartments. They will regret that move imho.

These brands end up as name only in the end, whatever they once were keeps getting bought and ends up as something completely different.

Take Muddy Fox bikes, early 90's they were the bike to have. Then mid 90's they ran out of money, name and other things were bought and sold and bought and sold and bought again until now its just a generic below average brand in the likes of Argos etc

Looking rather grim out there and i suspect the body count is only going to get higher.
