Just helped my son buy a better PC than I have - Please add your sympathies here...

    7800X3D
    ASROCK B650M-HDV/M.2
    Seasonic 750W PSU
    32GB 6000T/s C30
    (Extra) 2TB NVME
    AK620 cooler
NZXT H5 Flow (at least I have this same case)

Only reason he didn't buy a 7900GRE was because it appears to be out of stock.

I'll stick with my 5600 and 6750XT, whatever, it doesn't bother me at all, not one bit, nope nothing to be envious of..

I'm hoping 3rd Gen AM5 (10950X/X3D?) will jump to 32-core for the top consumer level (so the same type of launch pricing that the 16's had as a maximum), as well as improving EXPO RAM speeds (and reliability of course) to as much of a higher level by default as possible.

That would probably be enough to convince me to jump to that from my current 3rd Gen AM4 (3950X).

Hopefully ATX 3.1 PSUs would be in frequent supply by that point too.

    Well, he paid for it!

It's basically what I'd have bought as an upgrade minus the case & PSU

He paid for it. No sympathy for you.
However, you do get credit for raising a kid with such good work ethics and financial sense that he either saved up enough, or got a good enough job, to afford a decent machine.

    F to pay respects lol

Nice one, but that's part of being a dad isn't it

Right now I have the fastest PC in the house, but I don't expect it to last long. Never does!

I just got rid of the H5 flow. Was the best case I ever had, only reason I got rid of it was because my motherboard, the stupid bit that goes around all the I/O ports is too high and was hitting the AIO.

Looks a great build, I am sure he is happy with it.

I did something for my daughter last year. I couldnt' stand it, so it didn't last long, I just couldn't be the 'tech' person with the slowest computer lol

I like mine, it lives under my desk and isn't flashy, good filters and easy access to them, what's not to like!

He's upgraded from a 10400f so should be a decent jump (more pending a GPU upgrade)

Yes I loved mine, best case ever, if I had kept it would have took the bit off the I/O ports so I could have used the AIO. Ah well all in hindsight!

The 7800X3D is a great chip

My Son is still one step behind me, with that he is 8 and gets my old parts as I upgrade for now.

I look forward to him upgrading past me on day.

I had a similar package once, unfortunately it contained exactly what I ordered.

Yeah that's what happened. Stupid Scan sending me what I ordered instead of 3 x 4090s, that's just rude
