ICT is generally used in schools, but I think has found a way into mainstream jobs.

btw, ICT is not a nice subject to learn.. it covers all the crap thats easy/that u cba to learn... some may like builing relational databases etc... or studing the data protection act 1978 (wow did i remember the right year?)
basicly its the buisness side of computing which i find extreemly boring and i dont recommend it... + theres so many ppl doing it now there wont be many jobs left soon.

    Agreed.

I did it, and pretty much regret it cos' the course was very boring and wasn't what I expected really... I would had rather done computing, but my school didn't offer it

    Nope, sorry it was 1984...

Don't get me started on this! ICT is not easy. Its all very well doing these Computing courses but there is only a need for so many programmers in the world you know!! The main purpose of ICT and its equivalent at Degree level (of which there are many different versions) Is to bridge the gap between a business professional who dosn't know how IS can impact and aid his business and the computer programming who loves his binary and dosn't have a sodding clue about profit maximisation or moving a company forward.

As i repeatedly get told, this is where the money is at - consultancy.

ICT did my head in at school, all boring MS Office-based work, but Computing at college is a load better, programming etc..
