Overclockers Phone Numbers

guys,

has anyone managed to get through to overclockers support line ?

I've been trying for 3 days now and not got through.

I've just phoned the sales team and got through quite quickly and I was told the support team asnwer the phones all day ? but if I needed something I may be better sending a web note.

I'm getting a little concerned with this, as its the second time I've had need to contact overclockers and been unable to.

Is anyone else seeing this problem ? is there something going on with them ?

Yeah they have not enough telephone people. Just keep trying I'm afriad :(

Last time i used them, and it was the last time ever, took me 8 hours of trying at various times to get through, 2 times i got through they hung up or i was cut off, but eventually got through, don't call between 12 - 2 as they seem to go for lunch and nothing happens on the phones. All you can do is keep trying

Show me where I am knocking the retailer ;) I simply state their phone support is dismal, in fact email them you get a quicker response. I simply state it was the last time I used them, if I was slating the store in question, trust me I would of let rip with all valves.

I never said you were, I just asked that this is for telephone advice and not to knock them, I was pre-empting the problem that was all ;)

Knox you need to give us that number you used ;) it can't be the one on the site :P

I heard that if you write "ring me" with your number on a piece of paper and put it throught the fax again and again (like one long fax), they get in touch with you.

Worth a go...

Out of insterest is it to send a faulty item back for exchange or an RMA, if it's and RMA query email them and they deal with it via email once you send it off they get back in touch via email to say they got it and thats the last you hear until they send it back tested and working or if there is a problem they will email you to ask what you want to do. You could try a fax, might be better than the phone option.

Yup - use the one-note email system for technical queries.

You'll get a quicker response that way.

Best bet is to book a day off work and keep your finger on the redial. That's what I did and I still didn't get through. In the end I sent the item back with the old RMA number and a slightly s**tty letter saying why I didn't renew it!

Best way to do it is to 'pay them a visit' and walk in with a baseball bat.

they do seem to have a poor reputation for this judging by this thread.

I've used the contacts page as suggested above, a few times but never recived a reply other than the automated response saying my message has been recived. Hence my desire to contact them

Sales guy refuses to chat about the problem and advises me to keep trying support.....support rings out until the phone goes dead.

sorry - was not inteneded to give critisism, but establish if this is/was a common problem or if there was a better way to deal with this.

they are sooooooo slow! just got to keep trying!

I had to phone them because of a payment error. I gave up in the end and re-did the order. If you look them up in directery inquires (you can do it for free on the bt websight) you can get there local number instead of the stupid high rate one. If any one from oc's reads this, two words for you. E-mail Surport!

I guess a lot of us already know about these problems with this e-tailer.

I guess we have to put up with it or order elsewhere.

I used the one-note system 3 times in the past week and had replies within 2 hours on all 3 occassions.

It took me a few days to get through, Monday morning was fine though. They should answer duting the week...

well.....they have further impressed me now, by taking the support phone off the hook. eg: the office is closed now and the line is marked as engaged.

Just wanted to check this wasn't a one of issue before I went off the handle

When i had to return a graphics card and needed an RMA card I managed to get through in 20 minutes. Because of a delivery p**s-up I was forced to try and get a second RMA number. For some reason the phone queue seems to be down and has been for almost 2 months. They REALLY need to get it fixed, so many enthusiasts (their main users) are leaving in droves!

The e-mail support was stopped because people were 'abusing' it. It's more likely that they simply don't have the staff and make a packet using a phone line.

I live about 10 mins away from Overclockers. Theyre based in the Imex business park, Fenton, Stoke-On-Trent. Its a few minutes from the brittania stadium. I nearly went for a vacancy there also, but I dont have the time. For such a large website, the office is like finding a needle in a haystack, its not your normal high street store, more like a garage with a desk inside! :D However I have noticed they get extremely busy during weekends (even walking through the door is a tight squeeze. I'd suggest you keep trying, you'll get through eventually! :)

edit: maybe I should have gone for that vacancy...looks like they need it! lol

The webnote system isn't any better, they just choose which they're going to reply to, as my friend recently discovered.

Regarding the telephones, Spie said over 3 months ago that their telephone system "is being replaced during the next few weeks". Obviously a load of crap.

thing is, if people keep buying (as they clearly do, indicated by this thread) then they have absolutely no need to waste money on another support guy who costs them wages. they may as well just sit around and watch the money roll in..
