But, seeing as it got my curiosity going, back to the subject of longest words. Depending on who you ask, it could be floccinaucinihilipilification (29 letters, longest "real" English word according to Guinness Book of Records), or antidisestablishmentarianism (28 letters, popularly accepted as English's longest word). The longest word in the English language containing only one vowel is strengths (9 letters). The longest legal Scrabble word is ethylenediaminetetraacetates (28 letters), even though it exceeds the width of a Scrabble board. More.
