    Did Chelsea "buy" the premiership?

Ok, Chelsea done it, and about time to. It's rather ironic that the media bangs on about the foreign player influence, yet the best players i can see at Chelsea are Lampard, Terry and Cole in recent matches. And someones bound to mention that Petr Czech is not English but one of the best stoppers around at the moment, shrugs.

These three form a great England backbone for the upcoming Germany '06 and yeah, i'm saying we have a great chance of success in Germany '06

Hmm where's the polls! This should have been a vote but im pished with celebrating!

Well, of course they did to some extent; Chelsea would not have been the force they are now without the millions they have spent, however, they also would not be the force they are without a great team spirit and a quailty manager to harness that spirit, who the players will play for.

Believe me, it is more than possible to spend the sort of money Chelsea have and not win the league. It has to be spent well, on the right players for the team.

The scary thing is that Chelsea have won the Carling Cup, the Premiership and are joint favorites with AC Milan for the Champions League, and you just know they are going to go out in the close season and buy 3 or 4 truely world class players, and could and probably will dominate like Man United have done.

Having said that, I would not give Jose Mourino manager of the season; I'd give that to our manager, David Moyes. Chelsea were expected to win the league at the start of the season and have done; Everton were expected to get relagated this season, and we are on the brink of a Champions League place. That is more of an achivement with the players avalible than Mourino has done at Chelsea.

Its been a good season for teams at the top wearing blue, really.

Up the toffees. All hail the Moysiah. And lets all hope Chelsea kick Liverpool out of the Champions League.

We are actually (In Europe that is), the UEFA Cup at least. And I think we've got the Champions League in the bag.

As for not buying a team - well, yes, that's pretty much what I said. Where as the money obviously helps, you have to buy the right players, have the right team spirit, have the right manager, attitude and a million other things.

Fair play to the Chelsea; they have been the best team this season, and if you win the treble, its been a dream season.

Money buys players, money does not buy a team. Cliched, but true.

Jose has done a fantastic job. It's nice to see people with personality in the game.

... especially when they're beating Arsenal.

Well, I thought Chelsea would, as did most people I spoke to. Arsenal were expected to be a lot closer, but I'd have made Chelsea favorites before the start of the season.

You can have all the players you want in a team, but to have them play with such team spirit and togetherness is a whole new skill which money can't buy.

The morale of the team is astonishing, I haven't seen a team play like that for a long while.

too many cooks spoil the broth, as West Ham found out a few seasons ago, they had some of the greatest players in the country at the time playing for them, but just couldnt win. full credit to chelsea, they have deserved to win, there squad is expensive, but its the best TEAM around, look at Real Madrid aswell, zilllllions of pounds worth of players, sturggle to win games.

I'm a Chelsea supporter, and I definitely agree; although I think the extra millions we've had played a part in getting players, it has done nothing to build a great team.

And up with the English talent!

Was a bit diappointed after the semi-final first leg, but hoping they will sort it all out at Anfield.

Chelski didn't win the premiership last year with Abromovich's billions.

Money certainly helps, look at all those that don't have it. Bringing in a decent manager certainly helps. Chelsea were fortunate to have Lampard and Terry fit for all of the season.

For all those championing English players please don't forget Makelele, he has been nothing but sensational this season.

Arsenal lost the Premiership when Man U beat them on the 50th straight win game. (In which Ferdinand and Van Nistelroy should have been sent off) Knocked the wind out of them.

I now hope Everton hang on to 4th spot as this will be good for footie.
