    Contract Phones

I need some useful advice about moving from pay as you go to contract.

At the moment i spend £20 + on a pay as you go phone on the topup cards. I have been looking into contract and it appears i can move onto contract and live a lot more happier on there for about the same money but with a lot more texts and lots of free minutes

What i now need to do is to decide what tariff is best for me. I use 95% of my phone for texting so as long as i get more than about 10mins free call time to any network i will by fine with that. I need as many texts as possible though, in a month i must send about 150 + messages, so i need a contract where i get at least this number.

The next part is the phone, i would like a flip-open phone, but things like colour screens and all the fancy games are less of a priority.

    So...

Can anyone suggest any decent network tariffs for my requirements, and give me links to them? As an extra note i would prefer to order or buy the phone from a main phone dealer (like an O2, Orange, Voda or T-Mobile shop.)

All suggestions welcome, so get advising please!!

If your mainly txting pick a basic tariff on the nextwork you choose and get a bolt on of say 400 txts per mth which should bring it up to around 20 + per month.

Your best bet is to call into the Carphone warehouse - their brouchers have all the networks and prices listed.

its on o2.co.uk, its an 'online' tariff which means you don't get any bills through teh post or anything like that. It also means you have to order off the web site

I have narrowed it to O2 tariffs. They seem to be the only ones supplying 'free' texts with the line rental. I now have to weigh up do i go online and get a bit more, or go shop and get that one-to-one feel...

It looks that way from what i can see. I really could use them 500 free txts instead of 100/150 i could get on other tariffs. Will prolly order next week when i get paid

Why are we going backwards when it comes to mobile phone tariffs instead of forward ?

yeah we are. Also owing to a recent order to cut call prices, contract and pay and go handsets are going to be much more expensive

I think i am going to head for the High Street O2 50 tariff. The selection of phones is better in the shops, and with this tariff i get 50 mins Anytime incl. Xnet + 25 Inclusive texts, i am then going to stick £7 worth of bolt-ons to give me total of 175 messages a month. This should be plenty because what can be send in one minute by fone, sometimes takes 10 txt's.

I am going to go to quite a few phone shops and see what decent phone i can get for £20 no more, on that tariff. Hopefully get a Samsung creation
