Another tip for you Try and get yourself a set of bar ends if you haven't got drop bars (which I assume you dont). They can be had for about £15 from places such as www.wiggle.co.uk. It will make a massive difference to your hill climbing. When you are cycling home from work each night try and increase your trip length a little each way. You will be getting fitter but not noticing it at first.

Had a great day. Finished the distance in slightly under two hours, including four checkpoints and one drink stop. Legs and backside fine, but my arms suffered because my hayfever is giving me achy joints Reckon I lost about 2 stone in sweat as well
Still, it was really enjoyable, nice to see so many (nearly 1000) different people out. I'm now considering the British Heart Foundation 48 mile ride on September 11th.
Final fundraising total for me was £606.54!
i should be able to help you out on next friday when i get payed if thats not too late.
I think that would be fine I have to have all the money in by July 31st.
