This is a tiny adapter for whatever charger you may have. The only catch is that your wallwart/charge needs to be able to handle ~40W (not a prob in most cases).
Basically it drops the input voltage down from 12v to 9.6v and 6v. The LM317Ts can handle a max current of 1.5A - of course you could use a LM338T (5A max) heh...
R2 and R4 have to be 240ohm resistors, while R1 = [(9.6*240 - 1.25)/1.25] = 1K8 resistor and R3 = [(6*240 - 1.25)/1.25] = 1K1 resistor.
I've marked '1A' on the PCB to note that the tracks are thick enough to handle a max of 1A safely. Also, the output current it defined by the input source
I changed the trace width to 40mills to handle 1A max current and the ports are like so:
12v - glow plug
12v - starter box bat
9.6v - Tx bat
6v - Rx bat.
Off topic: mike, can you check my latest thread in the software forum please, i think you have a little knowledge on the subject
On topic: I had a remote control petrol car but it was a rally one and hard to maintain with the amount of crap that gets into the different parts. The clutch went in the end and i just gave it away 'cause i didn't have the time. I had a go on a mates once which did like 90mph. I broke it after 2 mins of use. I accelerated full pelt into a pavement, it must've hit it at 40mph. Oops!
ohh boy...rule of thumb never let a 'mate' drive yer car. I know it is hard to do but hey no way I'm letting anyone drive my £1500 buggy LOL.
That is a cracking looking lid there, obviously took a lot of skill to get the paint looking so spangly
The Caped Crusader :-)
Fully finished:
Lo guys...I just got back from a 11 hr plane trip and then some ... been sorting out my room and gotten quite a few things done and here are some initial pics of the buggy:
Removed the V-spec as it is a 'biatch' to break in and gonna play a bit with the P5...Will break it in later
Cars for me:
VW Golf
VW Passatt
I love the Golf too, infact trying to get one right now Ok, today I did the first ever test run...after about 5mins after tuning it the quad cradlocks fell apart the screws just 'unscrewed' them selves...HAHA
I guess I'm going to remove alot of the 'center' stuff (tank, pipe, mill) and threadlock the brakes on and check the rest of the screws for anything lose. Scary as ever loosing parts!
It looks awesome
Ok, just finished redoing the calipers, and tightened stuff - Gonna try again tomorrow
Matt: I think I must have pissed off some of the people next door. It was SUCH a racket! and it lasted WELL over 10mins to empty 1 tank, of course I was just blipping lightly and a couple close to WOTs (didn't over do it..)
The engine was doing 230degF most of the time I really really like the P5, thinking of selling the darn hard to turn over Vspec...rofl!
