    Nachi Virus

    Lo all,

I keep gettin the message that AVG anti-virus has found a virus / worm called 'Nachi' on my computer, and tells me to run AVG ASAP to get rid of it.

When I run it, it doesnt find it, and therefore I think the virus hasnt been removed.

I've searched symantec but to no avail, can anyone help me on this?

    Kind Regards

    Nick

Oh yeah. Nachi is Welchia. Why can't these AV companies just agree on names?

    download and run http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/FixWelch.exe

    Just found out

    Self removal
When the system clock reaches Jan 1, 2004, the worm will delete itself upon execution.
So will prolly just let it be..

It isnt harmin my system YET.

delete your restore points if using XP, it can often hide itself there.

Imagine how hard it is for us in the business to know what virus is being spoken about with no regulation of the names! Wish they would do it as it would make the job easier.

make sure windows is up to date with ALL of the windowsupdate.microsoft.com updates so that your pc can't get re-infected with the virus...
