I think that for someone who hasn't used IRC before, information is all over this thread:

1. Download an IRC client (I suggest mIRC)
2. Go to Quakenet as your server
3. Go to #hexus.net (type "/join #hexus.net")
4. To join that channel when ever you go to quakenet, go into tools, click perform, and type "/join #hexus.net" into the quakenet section
