    Help me.

Just started up my digital camera and I get the message 'Lens Error' I have looked in the instruction manual and it says contact your retailer or a nikon dealer. I brought it from PC World 7 months ago and the problem needs to be fixed in a factory. Will Pc World give me another camera or should I just send it to the Nikon people?

Just take it back to PC World- I doubt you'll be able to deal direct with Nikon although I suppose you could give them a ring and find out. Their headquarters and service centre is in Kingston. If not, PC World will send it there and get it fixed (or replaced). Turnaround depends on the efficiency of the store and Nikon but tends to be a month or so unfortunately.

If that doesn't look too good then a trip to kingston may be in order if its not too far for you.

    which model is it?

personally I would go back to pcworld and demand an exchange, a repair would take anything from 4-6weeks if sent away. if they start making a fuss stand your ground, be polite above all and be reasonable. if it gets no where ask to speak to the manager. saying you're going away in a few days may help to
seeing as its still so new there shouldn't be a problem, you just have to be firm without getting mad.

Its all done already. Went into PC world and they said that I needed to call their care line. The careline people are sending me out packaging which a courier will pick up. They will either repair or replace the model. The lady said it usually takes 2 weeks to do so its not that bad. The only problem is that I have the summer ball next week so I need to buy myself some crappy disposable cameras.

For the cost of a couple of disposable cameras and the developing, you could get yourself a £60, 2-3mp camera, use it for the ball and then flog it afterwards, you'd probably only lose £10-15 in depreciation (unless it gets dropped in a beer or something).
