We've been on Nildram 512k for the last 3 years and are still paying £25/month for the privilege... so we're looking to upgrade. Had a look at the Plus.net website and the prices look lovely, how is the service? Apologies for thread-nabbing, but I don't think I'm worthy of a new thread
Just done a check and our line can do 2mb adsl... which is nice. Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions, please?

We're looking for a service that preferably doesn't have a bandwidth cap.. had a look at the NTL 3-in-1 for £30 thing, but it's got a 5GB monthly limit. There are 5 people in this house who use t'internet, so no limit is preferred!

Had plusnet for a year....they are excellent! been flawless for me. Never had any downtime. and never had my speed drop belowthe 2mbits that im subscribed to.Originally Posted by Theo

Plusnet are, when its all said and done, very good. They've copped a lot of flak recentlyfor their attempt to cap the service with a scheme called 'Fair Usage' - this lost them a few customers and a few months down the line they did a complete u-turn on the fair usage policy, removing the cap and maintaining an unlimited service but based on contention ratios.
In my opinion they handled the pricing restructuring (as connections sizes increased) poorly leaving many people paying a premium for 2mb servicewhen they could have the same for a much reduced fee - requiring them to manually downgrade or face paying over the odds.
However, niggles aside which will no doubt be sorted, they do offer fantastic customer service, forum based help and support and my initial problem of recieving a 2mb ADSL signal but only 512kb service was sorted within an hour of raising a contact ticket on a bank holiday Monday - very impressive.

Thank you Skii and Nemeliza, you have me sold. I've had a look at what else is on offer and plusnet seem to do a cracking deal. I'll be migrating to them later in the week... once I've got exams and assignments out of the way.
