    Worst fake email scam ever?

    Sold (or tried to sell) a mobile on eBay. I have been using it for years and this is the first bad transaction I have had.

    The buyer sent me a fake email, making out it was from BidPay. It's so bad that instead of just posting negative feedback I though I would put the email up on the net and put a link to it in the feedback section, as a warning to other eBayers.

    Anyway, get a load of this...

    Whats the bets this guy is about 12?

    Oh dear... tut tut. that's appalling. did he even try to phish it?

    its probably not got more fraud and scams, but being a company thats getting bigger it has the publicity.

    Getting the hump with ebay in general;

    Recieved 20 or so phishing attempts in the last 4 weeks; All coming as a question from a member querying postage, or a asking if you're still interested in an item. Clicking the item link takes you to a fake log screen hosted at 81.196.121.139.

    Did the dutyfull thing and reported to ebay; Pasted in all the header information from the mail (which shows its a spoofed mail) and explain that it takes you to at fake login site.

    What do I get back? A mail explaining "It does not appear to be a spoof email"

    You can always tell the phishing scams through bad spelling grammer etc. Legit companies have standardised letters etc which are normally proofed by someone who passed GCSE English at some point.
