    Oh, hang on... wrong thread...

    Yeah, and most politicians.

Thinking about it, 'sneaky' is the best description for this whole affair i have heard.

Hold on it's not sneaky. If I enter a competition to say win a free car and I win it why can't I sell it on ebay for a profit. Or is someone like Geldork going to tell me that I have to drive that car and no other.

If you purchase something legally or win something in a competition it is legally your property and is treated like any other property, that is, you can do what you want with it. Why should market forces be any different just because it for charidee mate?

Live8 has still got it's money, which let's face it is all that Sir nob "Give us yer f***ing money" Geldork is interested in.

Did I totally miss the point of live 8 or was it more about making big wealthy countries drop the debts africa owes us as aposed to helping sort out famine?

That's why it's not a good thing to do. It's an event to highlight and get rid of poverty and people are charging extortionate prices for the privelege? Thats why it gets on bobs tits.

no, you missed the point. The point is that you could sell the car as its not being offered in association to any charity fund raising thing is it? but given that the live8 tickets were essentially free with the aim of raising money for the event, to sell something like that and NOT give the profits to charity just isn't right. in fact its pretty low.
