Going there in October with my family.
What's it like there? What's to do?
Seen a picture of the apartment which looks really nice, but I hate been out in the sun all the time, so is there anything to do there apart from burning myself in the sun?

Nice ladies in nice bikinis?
Do that. You can thank me later.
Don't worry, I have enough memory on my digital camera to take 800 pictures, you won't miss outOriginally Posted by Vaul
righty.. Puerto de la Cruz is on the north coast of the island.... I was led to believe when I went to Tenerife some years ago that most of the fun was to be had at Playa de las Americas, which is on the other side. It cost 350 pesetas to get there on the bus when I went, bout £1.50.. dunno what it'll be now - it's all Euros. A lot of the stuff to do there is outdoorsey type things, so get a hat, and sun screen We stayed in Puerto Santiago, on the west coast, which was quiet.
There's a fantastic arrive n drive karting track on the old airport just north of El Medano... you should go there too

Puerto de la Cruz is indeed on the North side of the island. It tends to be cloudy on that side, thanks to the mountain/dorman volcano. However, you'll still get a tan because the UV rays get through and it's more bearable to walk around as it's slightly cooler.
The south side is definitely more 18-30ish, and it's always flippin warm and lovely and sunny.
Only ever went to the north side on trips so I'm not sure what there is to do there. Loro parque (parrot park) IS good though, and that's on the north side.
Thats good in a sense for me thenOriginally Posted by Kez
