    Winamp. I love it. Needs some time/getting used too if coming from Media Player, but once your hooked there is no going back.

    iTunes defaults to ripping AAC. AAC is an ISO standard and is widely supported as the successor to MP3. Apple Loseless is a proprietary format, but how many people actually use it?

    Personally, I started using iTunes because I bought an iPod. I've stuck with it because it's quite easy to script for and there's plenty of plug-ins and add-ons for it.

    Used WinAmp before than but it seemed to get almost as bloated as the other players from version 3 onwards.

    I use Winamp, but I'm getting a bit annoyed with its buggy video playing

    I also use VLC for Windows... I think I'm at 0.8.5 or something

    Winamp here, the library is simplistic and easy to use.

    Itunes on my PC, Nicely organised and not hard on the eyes
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.
