How can I sell my unwanted DVDs?

This is not a for sale thread, a genuine question.

I'm going to Uni in Sept. But at the same time my Parents are moving abroad so can't leave my junk at my "home", because I basically won't have one.

Ebay is flooded with DVDs so i could only sell them for £0.01. Anywhere else to sell them? Do HMV buy DVDs? Its about 20-30 real DVDs boxed and in good condition. I won't have the space to take them and i don't really want to watch them again they are just there for collection (which i have found is difficult to collect when you don't have a home to put them in

OR CEX, most people get ~ 5-10 pounds in the fs/t forum, but whats wrong with keeping them? 30 DVDs isnt that much space, and im sure if your parents are 'abandoning' you (need to play the sympathy angle) they can spring for you storage over half terms etc.

You can sell them here, or maybe on Amazon. Or you can trade them in or sell them at places like Blockbuster or (I believe) Game, Computer Exchange etc.

I was trying to avoid having to post them since that lowers the sale price

I'll try listing them on the for sale section here, whats the price of posting a DVD case?

I can't get anything from my parents i'm afraid, nothing at all , they have money issues too which is why they have moved somewhere cheaper.
I could keep them but if i can get a bit of money and have less baggage at uni it would help. Besides i hope I don't have enough time to watch DVDs at uni

Blockbusters and game sounds like a good idea, less hassle and possibly good rates

IIRC posting a dvd costs about 50p If you set a price you want for a DVD, e.g 3.50, then add on 50p, so say 4 quid - after postage, etc, you'll have pretty much what you want

May as well try on here at your chosen price, at worst you get no replies and they go elsewhere! It's free, so why not? (Other than you have to type it out )

    300 DVDs in 5 years ain't bad

Honestly, just keep them if you enjoy watching them or ship them off on fs threads or classified ads. You'll probably get mor through fs forums though...... which ones have you got?

How about buying a CD/DVD wallet and chucking the boxes? It'll save you a lot of space and places like BlankDiscShop does high capacity ones for less than a fiver.

Feels like a waste to chuck the boxes, perfectly good condition. And a lot of these are movies i don't even watch once a year.

Thinking about discarding some PS2 games at this rate, and i just found an Xbox under the table too

he he this is my degree.

if you cant sell them on here try http://www.avforums.com. the best places are local second hand record shops i have found, they will pay more than a big retailer like mvc or game will.

i have over 200 dvds from 2 years and a whole loft full of videos.

    i've about 200 as well

imo take them to uni. they wont take up much room (if you're really bored put em in a slip case and bin the cases) - and they are a great way of meeting people (having a film on in yer room/halls)

Ok - find a relative, get them to keep a cardboard box in their attic for you. I'm sure they won't mind - and in that box keep the cases and any other stuff you can't take to uni. Take the disks in a wallet, and you have the best of both worlds....
