Hi folks. Bit of a random question, but here goes. I just had the rotten old wooden soffits/fascias/gutters replaced on my house with new PVCu units. This includes fascias on the flat-roofed extension at the back of the house. On the back wall the fascia stands out from the rear wall by a centimetre or two. It's attached to the beams ('rafters'?), so I don't think it's badly fitted. However, I can see into the flat roof i.e. there's insulation and wooden beams visible. There's no mesh or anything to stop insects crawling up. Is this normal? I appreciate that it should probably be open for ventilation, but is it normal to use a mesh or filler of some type?
