    Talking Useless facts.... the return!

At its present rate of erosion, Niagra Falls will completely dissappear in 22,800 years.

JFK was a distant relative of Lisa Gheradini, the woman pictured in the Mona Lisa.

A typical Giant Redwood's roots are only 5 to 6 feet deep... but spread out over an acre.

About 8,000 Americans are injured by musical instruments each year.

An Erythophobe is someone who blushes easily.

People play the least amount of golf on a Tuesday.

It takes 100,000 gallons of water to make one car.

John Lennon was the first person to appear on the cover of Rolling Stone.

The Earth is 0.02 degrees hotter during a full moon.

If a girl owns one Barbie doll, she probably owns seven.

A horse expends more energy lying down than standing up.

Kaiser wilhelm was so impressed by Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show when it toured Europe in the 1900's that he modeled his army on it.

I'd like to know how you calculate how many gallons of water it takes to make 1 car.

There are so many factors that you could add in there that it seems strange to come out with a figure like that....

it's probably an average.... i would have thought that every different water uses slightly more or less than another, and coming out with a figure like 100,000 is rather dubious.

The rest of them i could believe..

I think you slightly missed the point. 100000 Gallons to make 1 car, if we're talking raw materials and the processes to make them into steel etc, i hardly see where 100000 gallon figure comes from.

Plus i'm assuming we're talking steel rather than aluminium, there isn't any point knowing useless facts if you don't know how and why the are correct.

Its the old way of saying 100% of statistics are correct, or at least i can make you some that will prove it is

how can there be a specific figure tho? Surely it varies on every car?

Aha! you are wrong, the water I use counts as running costs, not production! and it makes it go faster! Honest :/ More importantly how do you know about my car 'issues' ? Who are you!? Unveil yourself Miss Pitstop! *shakes fist*
