Well since I was 16 last friday, HSBC has upgraded my savings account into a debit card

I can finally buy things off the net without getting my money taken off me by bills (parents)

And I can get overdrawn a bit MWUHAHAHA *cough*, won't be doing that till I get a job.

EMA is also cool (if you decide to go college) since money goes straight into your bank, and you can immediately spend it with your Solo debit card

I would still go to college if i didn't have EMA anyways. You do know that only those with under £30,000 household income per annum are eligible for EMA? And if you are between £20,000 to £30,000 you only get £10 a week? I get just under £10,000 per annum, so I get the maximum £30 a week Poorness freakin rules

it also depends on how close you live to the college i couldnt get it cus i lived more than 5 miles away that was the closest college to my house aswell but the people who lived a 5 min walk away could get it

i get no ema... switching to a solo card from natwest atm.. visa electron sucks ass. I was at a private school for gcse's that costs loads to go too.. hey sent us an ema form with my gcse's

As far as I know it doesn't matter how far you live - you don't even have to enter the address of the college you attend, but you have to give the college this thing that basically clarifies that you attend every week. In fact, I have a college about 5 mins from me, and all the people that live on the same road as it that are eligible for EMA get it :/


And the booklet clearly states I can spend the EMA on whatever I want How else do you think I got my monitor being 17 with no job

Dunno why you hate Electrons. Mine's fine - except my signature keeps getting rubbed off the back. They were pretty bad about 4 years ago, not many places accepted them then. Most places here do though.
