    Bed Price?

    Hi,

This might be WAY off the usual chat but does anyone know what a second hand bed is worth?
I've just moved house and I can't stand the single bed. Been in a double for the last 4 years and now can't go back down.
My old land lord is offering my old bed for £75 but its knackered. We had to put planks of wood down to help it not squeel like a banchee when anyone put weight on it.
Was thinking of just getting a double matress from somewhere. Does anyone sleep on a matress which is on the floor?

25 year olds shouldn't have to sleep in single beds!!!

    Exuntly!

Guess how it got broken? No not like that...
We had just watched Jackass and I have one of the muscle stimulators and mate said he had never tried it so I strapped it to his chest and put it to full blast.

He jumped about a foot in the air, screamed like a girl and then landed on my bed with a crack!

I slept on a double matress on the floor when i was student. It was fine & meant I didn't hurt myself when I fell out of bed p!ssed.

Saying that I bought my first double pine bed & matress, 2nd hand for £50 & sold it 2 years latter for that amount.

I wouldn't pay more than £50 for a 2nd hand bed & matress unless it was some thing very special & quite new.

Jimborae, where did u buy the second hand bed and matress? paper or a friend or something?

I still live like a student so I'm sure I will be able to cope with just a matress... Better than a single bed!

You can pick up a double bed new from ikea....we our Super King Size Malm bed there for about £150, and I see on the website there are doubles for about £63 (although remember to pick up the slats seperately - see other thread)...mattress is where the costs go up, but it's your choice (I think there's a thread about that too)
