Soooooo, we're off to Alton Towers tommorow!
Anyone been recently?
What should I go to first, what's good, what's a waste of time queueing for?
And where should I get my lunch?
I'll be there about 9 - 5 I think (but not 100% sure).

lmk how it is, i'm thinking of taking the musses next weekend
the new ride is meant to be alright. to avoid queues, get there as early as poss and leave as late as poss..
hughlunnon@yahoo.com | I have sigs turned off..
dont waste time queuing for rita, it is way overated.
at beginning of day:
get in park, head to forbidden valley
get fasttrack for nemesis, and go on air twice
Yeah I don't know about rita. Hopefully it will help distract crowds away from the older (but still good) rides like Nemesis and Air.
Is there anywhere I can print off a map? I can't see one on the website or google one except the interactive one?
EDIT: Found one.

I think i was 10 years old when i last went ( i think i was sick on the corkscrew ) i like the log flume ( is it still there? ) that's about it
I quite liked oblivion when i went, its worth a go. And ofcourse there are a good few newer rides so the queues for it were a lot less, we had a 10min turnaround sometimes!

Yep, think it's still there. Was last time I went anyway, and I think I see it on the map.Originally Posted by shelley bda
What about lunch? Is it just KFC/Burger King etc or can I get a decent baguette?
And anything worth seeing outside of the "main" ride areas?
take some cruches and skip the Qs

Hexus meet at alton towers sometime?
I think so... I've been this year, but I try to go once a year.
Air, Oblivion and Nemesis. And that random mine cart one.
I disagree with what's been said, Rita is class. It's like being in a Formula 1 car.
You're best bet is to get there when it's early and try and grab as many of the fast track tickets as possible. That way you'll get on there with the least amount of queuing. If you don't mind being anti-social then usually the single rider queues are pretty fast too.
My favourite ride was Air though. I was paranoid that I was going to fall out.
And for no good reason, here's a picture of Oblivion that I took...
Damn I go once every year but unfortunately this year has gone by the wayside so far after some unfortunate events. Like said further up fast track on nemesis see how many goes before you chunder! << is that the sick face?
ps. If anyone fancies going PM me, I'll do the driving!
I went with my cosin about a month ago
We got priority tickets (online, 2days in advance)
- First we did air, not priority, cos the queqe wasnt bad beeing very early
- Then Nemasis, priority line.
- The Oblivion twice, not queqe at all!
- The the flume, priority, still a great ride!!
- Then air, priority, cos the queqe was a fair bit bigger then.
- Then we queqed for rite for about 70mins right at the end, and it was amassing, its all over quite quick, but id deffonatly do it again, even with the 70min wait.
- My cosin was then sick, and i had to pullover and stop 3 time for her on the way back. Oh Joy!!
Have a great time, and dont look down....!

Anyway, I still reckon that a ride on the front of Nemesis is the most amazing 45 seconds you'll ever live (pants on or not).
Oblivion OTOH- the first time is maybe 2 seconds of thrills and then the only reason to ride it again is to see what poses you can pull off for the camera.
