Receipts with Vanishing print

Has anybody else noticed that the on Receipts you get on shiny till roll the bloody print vanishes after a couple of months making the guarantee void. I've got till Receipts from B&Q, Tesco, & a few other big companies & the print has totally disappeared. I wonder if I take a portable TV back with a till receipt with Tesco on the back of the receipt & totally blank on the front if they would honor the guarantee.... I think not.!!! Conspiracy...Maybe...... Big Problem ...Definitely. if your TV from Tesco packs up & you want to return it...

yes was thinking the same the other day - i have many of these receipts where stuff just disapears from it.

I always took the mick out of my mate who used to store all receipts in a sealed ziplock bag that was kept in a cool and damp place.

While most tills have moved on, the small shops still deal with the carbon copy receipts...oh man i mean you keep it in you pocket and your asking to wipe it clean. Tescos ones are also touch scratch-mark.

I havent come acroos ink dissapearing yet - maybe becuase I don't keep them long enough to find out....but never the less - seems like rather unfair play to me.

Yeah, I had a £10 credit note from the local computer store printed on one of those receipts and now I cant use it as you cant make out whats actually on it, its the same with my F.E.A.R pre order, you cant even see whats on that either (thankfully the pre order is stored on the PC at the shop)

It also happens with ATM receipts. I keep them in my wallet and try to log them, but sometimes they go blank within a short space of time and it screws me up as I can't remember what I withdrew and when I withdrew it! :(

i got a crappy reciept from jessops so i sacnned it in and brought the print up to a visible level, then printed it out and stapled the original to it, for an expensive bit of kit its worth making sure you have a readable receipt!

put them in a box when you get home and keep the box sealed.

They are thermal paper receipts and as such it fades with light. Keeping it in a dark box preserves it nicely :)

I have noticed this too, seems very convient for the stores doesn't it.

I work at sainsburys, and have noticed that the places where I touch the till roll before you put it in to change don't print properly. I therefore have to just not use the first layer of till roll as some parts of it would be unreadable.

Erm, it's not advantageous to me at all as far as i'm aware. I was just stating a fact that it doesn't seem to be able to print on top of finger prints.

It's not a conspiracy, its just cheap. Fax machines used to be like this too. :)

as theyre thermal, once they have been printed on once, even after its faded if you heat it up some of the text shows back up, im sure if u showed them you doing this and make the text come back they would accept it.
