No, it's not fun at all! I've had frequent acute tonsilitis for a couple of years now - at uni I was in bed for a week at least once a term (which is a lot when the terms are only 8 weeks long). It pretty much ruined my rowing, but now I've graduated the doctors are at last agreeing I should have my tonsils out.
