how many posts does one need to get an avatar?

as i cant have a fairly big signature, i was wondering how long it would take me to get an avatar to identify my posts quickly.

Is anyone keeping count of how many times this question has been asked? I think people either need to learn how to use the search and FAQ pages or admins need to make this kind of thing more obvious (probably the former).

When I first joined, I couldn't find it on the FAQ page. I decided to hold off for a while and then, when I couldn't find out, spent ages searching and eventally found it. Not sure if it's the situation now, but if so, could the admins posibly add something in the user CP next to the avatar section that reads "You can have an avatar once you reach 500 posts" or something along those lines?

The first few hundred always seem to get clocked up most slowly, once you get to about 2000, I find the post count just seems to flow naturally up in hundreds in tiny ammounts of time.

its being able to help others and receive help from others, when you need it, being part of a great funny community of people (not pyle though, hes weird) its about the bargains, the buying and selling, the general discussion and the cool service from those scan people, oh and lest we not forget killing time in Uni/work/school/any other time

I got to 500 fairly quickly, getting to 600 is taking me ages.
Apparantly I've got to make these "posty" things.
