    Pixmania?

I am thinking of placing an order with Pixmania

    http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/home.html

Has anyone used them before? are they reliable, good customer service etc?

Be careful, they're known for selling grey imports, but I think the sales generally go well?

grey imports and french (yes, its a french run company)...says it all really. if there's a problem expect a hard time getting it solved.

for example, take this description of one camera on their site:
The intuitive hand hold, sober design, top quality and comprehensive connectivity mean that the D2x is the camera for all serious photographer
um...'sober design'...you mean there's drunk ones out there? ffs! if you're going to sell expensive gear to a different country at least get the freaking english language brochure and copy it, at least the description will be accurate unlike your warped business practices!

    Read this

If things go wrong then customer sevice is as bad as non-existant - they didnt reply to any of 3 emails or answer any phone calls. I'd say avoid them unless theres a really good reason to buy from them.

I've used them a couple times and have had no problems... but i didnt have to use the customer service so i can't comment on that.
The 2 times I've used them they have been the cheapest.
