Are animated avatars not allowed now?

Did you turn off gif animation? I do, its nice, I dont have to look at flashy things, maybe you ticked a box by mistake

Well that's just boring if animated ones aren't allowed anymore .

Fair enough - take off the annoying flashy ones that distract your from the web page, but so long as the transition from one frame to the next isn't flashy or distracting etc I see no problem with them.

The existing ones WOULD work - they might just have made it that you can't have a new animated one. It wouldn't be possible to delete all existing ones without manually doing it.

Yeah people who upped their avatars before new dimension, size and obviously animation rules came into use got to keep theirs, but the rest have to comply with the relatively new rules, lol

Probably just to relieve the Hexus forums of traffic I guess, and make it seem more organised as popularity grows I assume, although would linked images effect that too much? Perhaps to put a limit on obscenity or something? *shrugs*

It's not a rule we have in place, probably just some default setting vbulletin has which has been set during an upgrade. Matt will look into it when he's free
