You really think Sony would want to get into even more lawsuits? Especially with the rootkit stuff going on?.

At the worst they will probably send a newsletter, with a link in it to unsubscribe anyway.. you have to expect this from most competitons, because they have to make money out of giving them away don't they?.

There wouldn't be lawsuits because it is in the rules that you are supposed to read. I really don't know if they would sell the email addresses. I was just pointing out that the option is available to sony. Also, the way contests like this make money is not from selling information; rather, it is from promoting the product (at least in theory).
