Ebayness...

I have 16 feedback, but only 14 is showing, this has happened a few times (the delay), but it's been about 4 days now.

The feedback actually shows when you read it and count it, it's just the actual display which counts it is wrong.

Whats with that?

It only counts feedback left individually per user, i.e. if there are two items bought off the same person then this will only show as one on the actual feedback received, but will be noted on the page underneath.

The current system discouarges your from you try and save on postage by buying a few items from the same person or finding a seller that has great service and good prices and buying from them again because it will not improve your rating. I found this out when I started, its very annoying.

My rating is 62 atm but I've bought 214 items.

Seems a bit harsh but then again it would be unfair for someone to sell say 300 02 sim cards to the same person and then get 300 feedback

Thats a good point. I only think about fair systems and always forgot about the ways it can be scammed. I'm too honest for my own good.

Don't you think a good feedback system would be on a basis of value of item? +1 feedback for both buying some envelopes for £1 and for buying a car for £20k seems a little skewed...

Thats sounds an interesting idea but eBay is too lazy to do anything about changing the system and everyone would complain if it changed. We have to live the flawed system but it doesn't stop me having a little bit of a moan occasionally.

The Ebay feedback system is almost pointless.
If a transaction goes perfectly smoothly, you get +1
If a transaction goes wrong, but you refund the buyer in a hassle free way, you still get only +1
As mentioned before, a £1 transaction gives you +1 as does a £10k transaction. Plus sellers allways wait untill they have been given feedback before offering it, so they can knock you and not get bad feedbackl as you dont want bad feedback
