I don't know who he is, but I don't see how free speech can physically harm others (maybe yourself). Inhaling other peoples' smoke can increase heart disease, cancer etc etc. It is far more deadly than free speech.

I knew someone would say this. A car is used for a purpose, smoking is not. There is no point in smoking. It only damedges yourself and others around you. I'm sure cars do pollute, but I think that smoking affects health a lot more than car fumes anyway. It's just a stupid pointless habit that has no need in todays modern society.

To be quite honest we've had this argument 20 million times before and none smokers always use the exact same arguments. I'm quite happy to sit here and argue you into the ground over smoking because it is my right as an individual to smoke and no-one is gonna take that from me. In my opinion not just as a smoker but as a person its a very one sided argument in society, yes smoking is bad for your health, I know that, I'm not stupid. But while there are people complaining left right and centre about how smoking affects them and how it should be banned everywhere but in your own home under a blanket in the dark, pushing the government to change laws in their favour, there seems, to me at least, to be a distinct lack of backlash publicly from smokers, we put up and shut up.
You wanted no smoking sections in restaurants, fine we said, no problem. You then upped it and said no smoking at all in restaurants, fine, we gave you that aswell. No smoking on planes, no smoking in the work place even now it seems no smoking in pubs and clubs, laws are being put in place to make these things happen yet still you whine.
How about you shut up for once. Fact is once smoking is banned everywhere, you'll just find something else to moan about anyway, Just give it a rest.
