    Virus Test Please

    YOU WILL NEED AN UP TO DATE VIRUS DEFINITION ON YOUR SCANNER AND ACTIVE SCANNING OF WEB PAGES ENABLED.

    I need to reply to the webmaster so if anyone has a minute could they go to:

    And select and open the festival of nine lessons and carols PDF document.

    Avast antivirus then pops up this message.

    Just tried it on another computer with Avast also picks it up. Both computers are free from spyware e.t.c.

    Could it just be avast being over-sensitive? Doesn't explain the weird URL thing though.

    Possibly just the way the browser downloads the file in sections so you can start to view it before all the pages have been received I would guess.
    I assume there's a sequence of bytes which pattern-matches against that worm, and Avast is scanning PDFs by default after the discovery of a flaw in some versions of Acrobat Reader a while ago.

    If you right-click and save the file do you get the same error?
